Does anyone have any theories as to... well, anything in Naruto? Like, whether or not Sasuke is coming back to Konoha, Tobi's real identity, the reason Itachi massacred the Uchiha clan... Oh, wait, that's what I'm talking about! :-/

[i]*NOTE* These are theories, not truth (well, they might turn out to be true, but...) Oh, and also, I have not read the manga itself, but I do have a pretty good idea of what is going on. In case you are wondering, I have a problem with grammar, so you probably won't see any abreviations or mistakes when I write. Oh, and if you are going to abbreviate something, could you please tell us what it means? I got really confused on this one thread where people kept using the abbreviation RAL... I will try to stop rambling. Anyways[/i]...

Okay, so we all know that Itachi, Sasuke's older brother massacred his entire clan (except Sasuke) and that Sasuke left Konoha (short for Konohagakure, means Village Hidden in Leaves, and I love that word!) to go to Orochimaru so that he could be strong enough to kill Itachi (and if you don't, why are you even in the spoilers section?),right? So, we all know that after Sasuke decided that Orochimaru couldn't teach him anything else, Orochimaru tried to absorb his body to get the Sharingan, but that Sasuke reversed the effects of the jutsu (and then Kabuto absorbed the remains, blah, blah, blah,) and that Sasuke recruited Karin, Suigetsu, and Jugo to his new team of Snake, and they all set out to find Itachi (and eventually kill him). We also know that, at around this point in time, Naruto decided to form an eight-man team (Kakashi Hatake, Yamato, Sakura Haruno, Sai, Shino Aburame, Hinata Hyuga, and Kiba Inuzuka and, of course, Naruto) to find Itachi, and therefore, Sasuke. We also know that, at around this time (am I getting at all repetitive?) the remaining members of Akatsuki (Zetsu, Pein, Konan, Itachi, Kisame) have a meeting, in which they are told that Sasuke, Deidara, and Tobi are dead (only Deidara actually is), and that, afterwards, Itachi is standing in the rain, looking up into it, and Kisame says that he "looks like [he's] crying". Afterwards, Itachi says that Sasuke really isn't dead (hey, there's something to theorize about, the "Enlightenment of the Rain"). Anyways, so now, Itachi leaves and goes after Sasuke. So, anyway, Itachi catches Naruto (it might be a clone, I don't know) and says that he needs to talk to him (???). So, after that, Sasuke and Itachi both end up in an Akatsuki lair (finally, we're getting somewhere!) and they start fighting. Itachi then says to meet him in the Uchiha hideout. Now, this was all kind of background info, but it might help some of you people who aren't completely up to date in later postings, but anyway, here is my theory (finally!). Okay, so what I think is that Itachi was originally a spy against the Akatsuki for Konoha. So, the Akatsuki, in all of it's evil, self centered glory, decided that they were going to massacre the Uchiha clan, right? (keep in mind that, as of when I said okay, this is entirely speculation) So, anyway, they were going to send Hidan to do it (he's the immortal freak whose religion won't let him "leave anything behind", meaning that he would have killed everyone), so Itachi volunteered instead. So, he killed everyone in the clan but left Sasuke alive for two reasons: a) to carry on the clan name and b) to later kill him, as he does not want to live with the guilt. I'm sure I can answer any questions you might have as to the possible validity of this theory, so don't be afraid to ask.

I am sorry, but "Theories" is my first post and I forgot to log in! Oops! So anyway, konohagakureleaf started this thread, and just forgot to log in. You can tell me if I ramble, but it's just how my brain is organized. P.S. The reason Itachi wanted to talk to Naruto was because he knew that he might not get a chance to tell Sasuke, since they would be fighting and all, so he thought it would be a good idea to have a backup.
